People's Inquiry into Student Wellbeing (2022)

Project lead: Tony O’Connor

In June 2022, Point received feedback from 4,593 tertiary students across Aotearoa for the Green Party’s People’s Inquiry into Student Wellbeing. Project lead Dr. Tony O’Connor found that while many students are thriving in education, there is significant student financial hardship and distress caused by a mismatch between student income and the cost of living. Student hardship and distress may be leading to poorer tertiary education outcomes for New Zealand’s future leaders.
