Motor neurone disease affects over 400 people in Aotearoa at any one time. MND NZ is the only charity in the country dedicated to supporting those affected. In 2018, we surveyed the MND community to understand what they needed most. In 2026, we're doing it again, checking in on how well support is meeting the needs of people with MND, their families and carers. We're honoured to be part of this work again.

When health gets in the way of learning, ākonga still deserve the chance to flourish. Te Kura Whaiora ki te Tonga / Southern Health School supports around 700 young people across the South Island each year- meeting them where they are and walking alongside them and their whānau. Our evaluation is helping make that work visible, so it can keep growing.

Mission Grocer is reimagining food security in central Auckland - and our role was to walk alongside the Mission Grocer team as an independent research and evaluation partner. Through interviews with staff, volunteers, partners and stakeholders, alongside customer feedback, we helped the team pause, reflect and make sense of what had been learned during the first nine months of operation.

This collaborative research with WaiRangahau and GravitasOPG explored how elder abuse is understood across diverse ethnic communities in Aotearoa, highlighting cultural perspectives, systemic barriers, and opportunities to shape more responsive, culturally grounded prevention strategies.

This Rheumatic Fever co-design initiative was facilitated by a team who held Samoan cultural and social capital as well as extensive professional skills and expertise. Point was lucky enough to be invited along for the ride.

Point assisted the Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand to evaluate the ABCpro digital telehealth nurse service for advanced breast cancer (ABC) patients.

Working alongside CFNZ, Point is surveying the people with CF, family and health professionals about their community-based support needs and what CFNZ can do to best meet those needs.

This evaluation captured the impact of a community-based coaching initiative that empowers vulnerable women.

Since 2011 Point has collaborated with DHB’s and private providers to capture the areas of patient experience most important to patients and their whānau and families.

Nearly 5,000 people with MND, family members and carers, and health professionals participated in this research to help MND New Zealand better understand their current and future needs, how they were performing and valued, and how they can continue to achieve their vision.

This research, conducted in 2017 and 2019 identified where issues of knowledge, culture or communication impact on current processes for escalating care.
