Pacific Voices: Help Shape How the Ombudsman Connects with Pacific Communities (2026)
Point & Associates is undertaking research for the Office of the Ombudsman to better understand how Pacific people seek help, raise concerns, and engage with government services. The research aims to identify what makes people feel confident speaking up when something isn't right, who they turn to for support, and how organisations can communicate and build trust more effectively with Pacific communities.
We're inviting Pacific people across Aotearoa New Zealand to share their experiences through a short survey. The survey takes around 8-10 minutes to complete, is confidential, and participation is entirely voluntary. Feedback will help the Ombudsman improve communication, strengthen relationships with Pacific communities, and support more accessible, culturally responsive, and trusted services. By completing the survey you will go in the draw to win one of three $100 vouchers
We are also looking to speak with people who work alongside Pacific communities, including community leaders, health professionals, educators, lawyers, youth workers, faith leaders, and others who support Pacific peoples. Interviews will explore help-seeking, speaking up about concerns, experiences engaging with government agencies, and approaches that help organisations build trust with Pacific communities. Interviews are conducted online, take approximately 45-60 minutes, and participation is voluntary and confidential.
